Josef
Albers

Posthumous
Works
The "9 Designs" were originally commissioned by the Museum for a posthumous stamp series honoring Josef Albers' graphic works. Subsequently, the Museum produced a set of postcards featuring the stamp designs and published pairs of the nine designs in a limited edition of prints. The originals are stored in the Museum's archives, where they are open to inspection by appointment.

Studies in
Transmitted Light

the series in miniature

the series enlarged with comments

This original series of compositions was created especially for the Museum of Forgery to extend Josef Albers' reflected-light color studies into the realm of transmitted light. Each image is a study in the color properties of transmitted light viewable through such devices as computer monitors. The full series of purely digital images is stored in the Museum's archives.
